    Mar. 16--TUPELO -- After a review that delayed the reporting of its annual report, BancorpSouth announced Monday that it had posted a loss in the fourth quarter and lowered net income for 2009. Preliminary results were announced on Jan. 21, but last month, BancorpSouth said that a review of certain asset qualities, including the allowance for credit losses, would likely lower earnings.

    Feb. 28--TUPELO -- BancorpSouth shares fell Friday, a day after it announced that it would be adjusting its fourth-quarter results that could result in a decrease in net earnings. Shares fell as much as 22 percent during the day and finished at $19.47, down $3.10 or 13.7 percent from its close on Thursday.
